Drawing from their current work-in-progress choreographic research, the workshop is inspired by the experience of Brazilian street carnaval—a vibrant mix of joy, celebration, physical endurance, and the collective energy of the crowd. The underlying research reflects on themes of longing, cultural memory, and the feeling of missing out.

Be ready to move your hips, connect with others through group exercises, and engage in moments of proximity and physical touch informed by contact improvisation practices.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, supportive shoes suitable for jumping and impact, and bring a water bottle.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Young Lungs Dance Exchange Artist Residency (Winnipeg), where this research has been developed.
